ECG patient monitoring in UM 300‑S Patient Monitors
ECG patient monitoring plays a crucial role not only in the cardiology department but also in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). ECG measuring channel (3 or 5 lead) is included in the basic configuration of UM 300-S Patient Monitor. Also, clinicians can add a 12-lead ECG channel via the plug-n-play UniPort™ module.
We ensure measurement reliability by cooperating with global top-class suppliers and innovation leaders. At the same time, UTAS has its own strong development team, collaborating with clinical specialists. Our Research and Development department has many years of experience in the development measuring modules and software according to modern standards. The ECG module is one of our own developments, which we are rightfully proud of.
ECG monitoring plays a crucial role in the assessment and management of critically ill patients. It assists clinicians in several directions at once:
• Detection of Cardiac Arrhythmias (fibrillation, tachycardia, bradycardia etc.).
• Assessment of Ischemia and Infarction (changes in the ST segment, QT interval, etc.).
• Evaluation of Pacemaker Function.
• Monitoring Response to Therapy. (1)
• Early Warning System for Cardiac Complications.
ECG channel in UM 300-S Patient Monitor
The main priority in ECG module development was aimed to provide stable and qualitative signals while measurement in difficult conditions. Motor artifacts of the patient, measurement while electrosurgical instrument usage, loss of contact quality of ECG electrodes with a patient, and others. Main features of UTAS ECG channel:
• 12 lead ECG acquisition with 5 lead cable with Uni-ECG technology.
• Intelligent algorithm of QRS complex pattern recognition.
• ST segment shift analysis, averaged QRS complex analysis, QTc interval analysis.
• Online analysis of 28 types of arrhythmia.
• Adaptive «surgical» filter with electrosurgical units detection.
• Electrodes contact quality check.
• Cross-reference signal usage from other channels.
• Auto switching to alternative lead for HR and RR channels, if current lead cannot be registered.
• HRV.
ECG monitoring in UM 300-S patient monitor is integrated into a basic configuration with other vital sign channels, such as SpO2, NIBP, TEMP, and RR measurement. This integration provides a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s cardiovascular status and facilitates early recognition of deteriorating clinical conditions.
Continuous ECG patient monitoring in UM 300-S is implemented considering comprehensive patient monitoring and early detection of complications for enhanced patient safety, as well as for confident clinical decision-making.
Learn more about other channels that we are especially proud to develop:
• NIBP SMART: non-invasive blood pressure measuring channel with advanced functions
• EEG with amplitude integration function (aEEG) and intelligent pattern analysis
